About Cantley
Cantley is located in the Outaouais region of Quebec just a short distance north of Ottawa/Gatineau. The town offers a range of recreational tourist activities and is home to forested hills and numerous nature spots that make Cantley the perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts.
Outdoor Activities

- Equita Ranch: Enjoy year-round horseback riding in the hills and mountains that surround the ranch with lessons and family riding available.
- Mont Cascades Golf Club: This golf club offers a challenging 18 hole course, spacious clubhouse, and a large outdoor deck with breathtaking vistas of the Gatineau River and Gatineau Hills.
- Mont Cascades (Ski): This local ski hill offers 20 trails for all types of skiers and snowboarders with 15 that are open for night skiing.
- Mont Cascades (Waterpark): This local recreation centre has 16 water slides and a large activity area with waterfalls, swimming pools, and picnic area.
Local History
Take in the local history by exploring some of these notable destinations.
- Blackburn Pioneer Cemetery: This site is currently in the process of getting official heritage designation and is a memorial to Cantley’s early pioneers, offering guided tours.
- Mary-Anne-Phillips Park: Home of the Dacey Mine Car (a restored historic mine car) and Cantley’s tugboat that tell the story of the town’s mining heritage as well as l’Embâcle, a sculpture carved from river logs installed to show the symbolism of the river’s history.
- Traversier Park: This historic site is on the river beach where Cantley’s popular ”Paddy Fleming” ferry once landed.
